Morning Realignment

Good Morning Lovely,

Have you ever woken up in the morning and Wham! A scary thought pops right up?

Sometimes this may happen even before your eyes have fully opened. But what remains is you, awake, and in a state of fear. This is a scenario typical of those who are high-stressed or anxious. For others, you may wake up and your mind begins to race, jumping from thought to thought. “What to wear? What to eat? Can’t believe so and so said that last night! Oh, and I have that appointment after work today. Good Morning Puppy! Yes, here is your breakfast… seriously, what am I going to wear today?”

Sound familiar?

What has happened so that your once calm, relaxed sleepy mind is now in hyper drive, and you are now super amped up or afraid?

The ego happened, that’s what.

When we wake up in the morning, our brains have shifted out of the unconscious and subconscious levels to a conscious waking state. A Course in Miracles says, “Consciousness is correctly identified as the domain of the ego.” (T.3.IV.2:2) So, when we’re awake, the ego is also awake, and ready to play…

The associated brain wave level with the conscious mind is Beta brain wave. When we are in Beta brain wave we are analyzing and judging our physical world and physical experience. This means that whether we are figuring out what to make for dinner or which activity to sign the kiddos up for, or even how someone could drive so poorly and still have their license, we are overthinking.

Unless we take genuine, purposeful action to shift out of our judgment of everything, we will quickly find ourselves in a negative mindset (bad mood central) and become reactionary to the simplest of things.

This is not how anyone would like to think before even setting foot out the door in the morning!

So, back to that morning head space, what can you do about it considering you wake up with a lively ego every day?

You can take a moment to realign, I call it the Morning Realignment!

Upon recognition that you are awake (doesn’t matter if your eyes are open or closed yet), take a purposeful deep breath. It is at this point that you want to begin reminding yourself of what you really are (love) thus undoing the ego’s noise of telling you the opposite. Essentially what you are doing is taking your mind from wrong-mindedness to right-mindedness.

I personally remind myself that I am grateful for my true reality. I say, “Thank you Father for my reality of being One with You, where I am wholly innocent and safe for all eternity.” Deeply breathing I continue to stay in this peaceful place, meaning every word I say and breathing in the love, which extinguishes the ego’s small voice.

You can choose to say whatever works for you. If you are an Atheist, you may choose to remind yourself that your mind is devoted to peace and happiness, and breathe in those peaceful tones.

Other options may be being grateful for your warm and safe bed, then expanding that gratitude to include the love of yourself, the beautiful people in your life, the adoring animals in your home, the safe city that you live in, and so on.

What we are all doing by actively choosing to remind ourselves of the beauty in our lives is we are undoing the ego’s biting voice. This recognition of the love that we are and the love that we are surrounded by will soon become a habit, a very good habit!! You will be releasing your investment in the ego thought by thought, morning by morning. A very worthy cause.

Remember that it takes work and investment to undo the ego in the depths of the unconscious mind, so every time that you focus on love, you are helping to dissolve the ego and its grip on your mind. Even if it feels like nothing is being accomplished, trust that focusing on love is better than ruminating in, and therefore reinforcing the ego. It requires commitment to think better, but you will see the amazing effects of your loving state of mind quite quickly.
You have had enough of the ego, and quite honestly, you cannot afford to think with the ego anymore. None of us can. You cannot afford a negative thought. The effects are hurtful, your mind is further damaged. No one wins, no one.
Now, when we focus on love, our brains will now not only be in Beta brain wave mode, but all the goodness that we are focused on will help the beautiful Gamma brain wave to kick in.

Gamma brain wave is the dominant brain wave of meditating monks and yogis. It is the brain wave that is activated by love in every form. Whether we laughing with our friends, snuggling our pet, or feeling good in any manner, the Gamma brain wave is jiving. Gamma is able to flow simultaneously with all other brain waves so that means that whether we are meditating (Alpha Brain Wave), asleep and dreaming (Theta Brain Wave) or full on zonked out in the deepest of sleeps (Delta Brain Wave), as long as we are thinking positively, Gamma will flow along the side of any of these other brain waves.

For those of you are students of, A Course in Miracles, or open to its wisdom I will now share three sayings that are helpful to begin the day with. These affirmations put your mind in Spirit-mode and each helps to undo the ego.

Here goes!

*Note that you can change the words and names to suit your preference, but the meaning should remain the same. Follow your heart and be your beautiful self!

Affirmation One – The True Our Father (Note the meaning behind the words as this is the original version before man reinterpreted it a few hundred times in the wrong way)

Forgive us our illusions, Father, and help us to accept our true relationship with You, in which there are no illusions, and where none can ever enter. Our Holiness is Yours. What can there be in us that needs forgiveness when Yours is perfect? The sleep of forgetfulness is only the unwillingness to remember Your forgiveness and Your Love. Let us not wander into temptation, for the temptation of the Son of God is not Your Will. And let us receive only what You have given, and accept but this into the minds which You created and which You love. Amen. T-16.VII.12:1-7

For clarification purposes I will redefine a few terms. Open your mind!
– Illusions includes anything that is fear-based but also that which is physical.
– Holiness means Whole (or Oneness).
– Son of God is all of us, no exclusions. We are all One, we are all equal.
– This affirmation rekindles our relationship with Love.

Affirmation Two – This places your Mind in the care of the Holy Spirit (Holy meaning Whole, Spirit being what we are.)

I am here only to be truly helpful.
I am here to represent Him Who sent me.
I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do, because He who sent me will direct me.
I am content to be wherever He wishes, knowing He goes there with me.
I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.

Affirmation Three – Release

Holy Spirit, you please be in charge of all of my thoughts and all of my actions today. Thank you, I love you.

There you have it! Three spiritual affirmations which get your mind out of ego-town and into a place of love.

Remember that your path is yours, and your mind is also yours. So follow your bliss, focus more on good feeling thoughts and enjoy every moment and every day, they are yours! Lose the guilt, feel the love.

Love and Gamma Flowing,

Anxiety – Why Are You Investing?

“When your mood tells you that you have chosen wrongly, and this is so whenever you are not joyous, then know this need not be.”
A Course in Miracles T.4.IV.2.2

Anxiety, although very fearful, is really nothing. Because it is based on something that either happened in the past, or actually has never happened at all, and then this fear is projected into the future, which has yet to occur itself, anxiety is therefore, nothing. It is based on the past and considering the past is gone, anxiety is again, based on nothing.

It is this realization, that the past actually has no power over you unless you give it power over you, that the past serves no actual purpose. It’s nice to have memories and learn from lessons, but dwelling on fearful things of the past certainly does not serve you.

Anxiety is a product of fearful thinking. Your senseless investment in it only strengthens the fear. Feeling anxious is something to be cognizant of as it is in the moments where you begin to feel the fear that you can in turn begin to dissociate from it instead of perpetuating it.

The ego, being the source of fear, would love to keep us anxious as what do we do when we’re anxious? We look for answers outside of ourselves, answers to satisfy the uncomfortable intensity of fear. We ask all those around us what they would do, how they would handle whatever fearful issue is the flavour of the day. And so you seek for reassurance that everything is okay, you ask for pity from those around you and you have now strengthened the fear of something which was not happening in the first place. And from all this searching outside of you, you are avoiding the truth which is within you, that you are Love. This is a survival technique of the ego. As long as you are looking outside of yourself, you are not seeing the beauty which is within. When we recognize the peace and love within, the ego dies. This is very frightening for the ego.

Anxiety is also so fearful because it involves something that “could” happen, but is not actually happening. It is so scary because you are facing a hypothetical situation which is not actually occurring in the present moment. There’s a beauty in the present moment because everything that you require, every answer you need is there for you in the present moment. Idling in the past and the future can definitely be anxiety producing because you are afraid of something formless. You are now afraid of a thought. A Course in Miracles says that “Thoughts cannot hurt you.”

The effects of negative thinking are uncomfortable, that’s for sure, but what started that reaction was just a simple thought. A thought that could have been chosen to pass by. But instead you invested in it, nurtured it and let it rule your mind. This is a mistake.

Mistakes are meant to be corrected.

There is no need to punish yourself further by delving into the anxious thought, or punishing yourself for even thinking the fearful thought in the first place. Choose again.

Let the fear go.

“When you are anxious, realize that anxiety comes from the capriciousness of the ego, and know this need not be. You can be as vigilant against the ego’s dictates as for them.”
A Course in Miracles – T.4.IV.4.1-2

It requires active participation on your part to keep anxiety going, but just the same, it requires active participation on your part to dissociate from anxiety. The choice is yours. And it is a conscious decision made by you, for you.
The photo at the beginning of this blog is of, Dr. David Hawkins’, Map of Consciousness. It literally maps out the deep chasm of human emotion. If you look at it closely you will see that the emotion for the “Level” of Fear is indeed, anxiety. It is a low calibrating emotion. (All energy calibrates at a certain level and that is what the numbers represent).

For all of you interested in increasing your self-awareness, I strongly recommend reading, Dr. David Hawkins book, Power vs. Force. And here is a link for you to investigate further into the Map of Consciousness;

The ego will have you feel obligated to the sticky tentacles of fear, but the ego is no more than a “mis-thought”, a mistake in human thinking. Your loyalty could just as quickly shift to love. Love and its effects are truly benign and include joy, contentment, and peace. You really could feel these loving qualities instead, it just requires discipline and practice to make the switch.

You are worth the switch to loving thinking because Love is what you actually are. Why are you trying to be something you are not? Ask yourself why you are trying so hard to be fear? Both thought systems require commitment.

Which one are you going to commit to now?

As a continuation of this topic, I am teaching a class on Anxiety where I will go further into its source, offer coping mechanisms and bring clarity to this prevalent topic. For inquiries and registration please email me at, or check under the Teaching & Guidance tab for more information.

“Pass the honey, Honey”

Pass the honey, Honey

“Honey is one of the most overlooked wonders on the level of form.”
Love Has Forgotten No One by Gary Renard

When you begin to think in a healthier way, your physical actions soon follow your thinking and you may find yourself changing how you eat and what you eat for the better! You might crave more water, or feel guided to include more avocado into your diet, or have more of a focus on eating organic items. Or you may even feel the need to lessen or eliminate certain foods altogether. Your inner guidance system will support you on your quest for mental and physical health.

In our world though, there’s a bit of a war going on between the bacon obsessed, preservative injected food industry and the awakening populace with their desire for organics. It can be tricky to shift from what we are used to, over to what we know is healthy as we are undoing a lot of our long-held beliefs about food and food products. (Remember that real food is whole food and food products are what you find in a box located in the inner aisles of your grocery store.)

To help make the shift to whole and healthy foods easier, you just have to look for natural alternatives to what you’re used to and I can help you with that!
The topic of this week’s blog is honey. Now, before you go ahead and say that you hate the taste of honey, there is a lot more to honey then just eating it (although eating it regularly is incredibly helpful for your whole system).

Now, I always say that before every chemical remedy that man came up with, nature already had the organic answer. And honey is the answer to many an ailment. It is a superfood and the Queen Bee (pun fully intended) of the organic world!

“Honey is as close as you’ll come to finding something on the level of form that is both organic and virtually indestructible.”
Love Has Forgotten No One by Gary Renard

In fact, honey has been found in Egyptian excavations from thousands of years ago, and it is still fresh! How naturally pure is that?!

So, let’s get into the benefits of this golden treasure…

– Filled with antioxidants which combat free radicals
– Regulates your blood sugar levels as its glucose and fructose is in perfect harmony
– A natural sleep aid. Try replacing your sleeping pill with honey (2 tablespoons before bed!) for a week and see for yourself if this works for you!
– Prevents and gets rid of heartburn. (Take honey a half an hour before you eat and then again before you go to bed. Give it a few days to kick in!)
– Use on mosquito or any bug bites. Honey takes the bite out of the bite! My go-to remedy!
– Also works for small cuts or burns! (Honey is my replacement for Polysporin)

As a note, don’t give honey to children under three years old as their bodies aren’t developed enough for it as of yet.

If you don’t like the taste of honey but still want the benefits, add it to hot water with some lemon, the citric acid will chill out the strong honey flavour.

Now, if you purchase dried berries like cranberries to add to your salads or granola, I have a recipe for you! As you may or may not know, dried berries are sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, BOOOOO!!! (And so are all Special K products, by the way) So, here is my honey loving alternative to getting those delicious dried berries without sending your body into a sugar high.

Dried Berry Recipe

Preheat oven to 300F Degrees.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper, NOT Aluminium! (Aluminum’s detriment to your health will be a topic that I will cover in another blog).

Frozen Berries (Organic if you can), 4 cups – Spread onto parchment paper.

Honey, ½-1 cup (Use as much as you want for however much sweetness you like) –
Pour over the frozen berries and don’t worry about the honey sticking perfectly to the berries at this point because it won’t, just pour over the berries as evenly as you can.

Place in the oven on the lower rack and let bake.

After 10 minutes the berries will have warmed up and the honey will begin to soften, this is a good time to stir the berries around to let the honey coat them evenly.

Bake for another 30 minutes uninterrupted, then check and the berries should have shrunk in size. Check the consistency and if you would like them further shrunken and dried, bake for longer and check every 10 minutes until complete.

Once done, let them cool and use as you like! Enjoy!

Always remember that you want to be practical with your lifestyle choices. The world of spirituality and mental health is not about sacrifice! So relax and follow your intuition. Let your Spirit be your guide.

Love and Healthy Sugar Intake!

Feeling Alien?

Think LOVE

“The world you seem to live in is not home to you. And somewhere in your mind you know that this is true. A memory of home keeps haunting you, as if there were a place that called you to return, although you do not recognize the voice, nor what it is the voice reminds you of. Yet still you feel an alien here, from somewhere all unknown. Nothing so definite that you could say with certainty you are an exile here. Just a persistent feeling, sometimes not more than a tiny throb, at other times hardly remembered, actively dismissed, but surely to return to mind again.”
A Course in Miracles – Lesson 182

I warn you that this week’s blog is very esoteric in nature, so beware. If you’re not ready to question your world, this may not be for you.

Have you ever felt that stirring that something is off? You can’t quite define what is off, but something is askew. This feeling can take many forms. At times this stirring can worsen to that horrible pang of loneliness. Or when you’re feeling incredibly misunderstood by everyone. In any regard, every person can relate to this feeling of lack, that something just isn’t quite right.

The purpose of this week’s blog is to help normalize this feeling and bring sense to it.

This will be a powerful message, and one you may not be entirely ready to accept. But, there is a part of you that questions your true purpose here and has questioned it before. I personally don’t feel that you’re out of sorts for wondering about your reality or your purpose, after all, this is a topic which has dominated ancient literature. And the answers to this dilemma which past philosophers have come up with are incredible and encompass the same idea!

So here we go on a spiritual ride….

We are, in reality, pure and formless Spirit. One with our Source or God (the real God, not the screwy one), Allah, Creator, the Man Upstairs, the Woman Upstairs or whatever you may choose to call It. And, if you’re an Atheist, that’s cool too. An Atheist devoted to peace is a path perfect for them.

So, if you believe that Oneness in peace is your reality, then it makes sense that the world of the ego, the physical world, doesn’t feel cozy. For where we were once limitless and formless, we are now confined to bodies and the land of time and physics or as, A Course in Miracles would describe it, we are caught in a dream.

So, the physical world in which we seem to occupy, is a dream. Now what? How is this even helpful?

Well, let’s begin with the opposite of the physical ego world. That would be heaven. Heaven is not a place in the clouds, it is a state of mind. It is a state of perfect peace, love and serenity. It is feasible to reach this heavenly state of mind while in the physical body, but when the body dies, the heavenly state of mind continues. This process of reaching a heavenly state of mind is also called, Enlightenment.

Enlightenment is not reserved for Saints, it is reserved for everyone, because we are all One. Some who have reached this state have been famous like, Mother Teresa and Jesus (the real Jesus, not the screwy one). And there are many who are not famous, like the old lady who lives down the street who smiles sweetly at you.

Like those who have become enlightened before us, they saw value in tapping into what they really are. If you remained identified with your ego, you would be stuck in a convoluted mess for eons, ugh. But, like the times you have surrendered to peace before, you will surrender again, and again and again, because it feels so incredibly good.

“The tolerance for pain may be high, but it is not without limit. Eventually everyone begins to recognize, however dimly, that there must be a better way. As this recognition becomes more firmly established, it becomes a turning point. This ultimately reawakens spiritual vision, simultaneously weakening the investment in physical sight.”
A Course in Miracles – T.2.III.3.5-8

Now, this idea that you are Spirit is your foundation, your core. Through all of your ups and downs in the ego world, it is the sense of peace knowing that your reality is pure Spirit that will help you through. Things will be easier to forgive because you will see no value in holding onto the negativity. Things will be easier to dismiss because peace feels so good. Love has become your motivation. And the ego, with all of its convoluted ways, will dissolve, bit by bit.

So, feeling alien in this world is okay, in fact, it’s normal. But being responsible with how you react to that alien feeling is where your power lies. Instead of searching in the land of the ego for the answer, try looking within. When you identify with the love that is ever-present within you, your physical world will respond in kind. Lessons will become easier to learn from, your physical body will feel lighter, and everything will appear brighter.

“You have so little faith in yourself because you are unwilling to accept the fact that perfect love is in you. And so you seek without for that which you cannot find within.”
A Course in Miracles – T.15.VI.2.1-2

This message is a beginning in a new way of thinking. You need not share it, or you can. Follow your heart. But remember, be gentle with those you share this message with, and do not judge them, not everyone is ready to be shaken out of dreams.

“Heaven is the natural state of all the Sons of God as He created them. Such is their reality forever. It has not changed because it has been forgotten.”
A Course in Miracles – Preface

Projection – It’s Not Them, It’s You

“Ideas leave not their source, and their effects but seem to be apart from them. Ideas are of the mind. What is projected out, and seems to be external of the mind, is not outside at all, but an effect of what is in, and has not left its source.”
A Course in Miracles – 26.VII.4.7-9

You may have heard the term “projection” being thrown around a psychologist’s office, or if you have ever watched the movie, “Inception” then you may also be familiar with the term. So, what does it mean to project? And how does it play into your daily life?
Well, every day and almost every second you have a choice which you are exercising, and that choice is this; love or fear?

Projection, like all negative things, is a product of fear. Your decision to do it hinders your personal happiness every single time and without fail. Such is projections purpose, to keep you in fear-based thinking.

Fear projects outward which is a trick of the ego to keep us looking outside of ourselves instead of at the truth within. Projection is wrong-mindedness. Alternatively, love extends to encompass everything. Anything love-based is what we call right mindedness.

So, how do we project?

Well, in so many ways. For example, you know that feeling you get if you flip someone off in traffic? Or the “satisfaction” of one-upping a know-it-all in a meeting? Those are examples of projection. It is your own ego (small self) acting out and declaring war on someone else for your own problems!

Although it may seem like the guy who cut you off in traffic is the cause for you flipping him off, it was actually your choice not to forgive him, judge him as worthy of your hate and unworthy of your love and show him as much by acting that hate out. You think the blame is on him, but it’s actually on you. You are responsible for your own ego and how your ego reacts.
The ego is ALWAYS projecting as that is how it stays alive, through negativity, hate and fear.

There is more at work here then perpetuating the nastiness of negativity. For every time you project, you are separating yourself from others in an unhealthy way. As Spiritual beings, this is not what we want to do. Of course we should have no problem detaching from negativity, but what about the soul, the person of who we have attached negativity to? Where’s our compassion for them? Our patience? Our unconditional love? Surely when you have a bad day you would like everyone to understand that perhaps you’re just going through some emotions? Wouldn’t you want a smile or a wave of peace as opposed to a glare or a snipe?

Also know that projection is just as detrimental to your mind when you’re imagining the negativity in your head as it is when you are physically acting it out. So, that “fake” conversation you had in your head of telling Sally at work “to go piss up a rope with her outlandish requests” is equally upsetting to your state of mind as if the conversation were actually physically taking place. All of this preoccupation with negativity is so incredibly taxing for you, mentally and physically! And what happens next? Well as, A Course in Miracles says, “Ideas leave not their source” which means all that negativity that you have supposedly put onto Sally or anyone else you’re upset with, has actually remained with you and your mind. You have hurt yourself.

The judgment, the emotions and the physical discomfort which ensues from you getting lost in your own negativity are such a WASTE OF YOUR TIME! And do not doubt that after delving into such fear-based thinking you can end up being physically sick or even careless and clumsy because you are so out of alignment with love.

Another caution about projection is that as you project out, you will perceive from within. Meaning, every time you project, you have just skewed any chance for a loving view of the world. A Course in Miracles states, “…without projection there can be no anger.” 7.VIII.1.1.

Projection literally keeps you lost in a world with those who are equally lost. A world of defensiveness and judgment and where you are always a victim of your ego and others. Are you really going to feel safe in this type of world? Is this the type of world you want to remain in?

Now, if you are trying to change the way you think for the better, becoming aware of how frequently you project would be a great first step. Note the last time you projected, did it actually serve you and truly make you feel better? We all know the remorse that may be felt after lashing out at someone… not fun, right? You feel guilt-ridden, shameful and it may take you a while to look that someone in the eye again. Think of it this way, you will never escape from the way you negatively think by placing a negative idea outside of yourself and onto someone else. By doing so, all you would have done is just made the idea stronger.

It takes great responsibility to want to detach from projection! It requires a grander awareness of what is going on in a situation. It also requires the decision for peace and most often, silence. You cannot overcome your own ego by working from your ego and the ego loves to pick things apart! So be cautious of when you are analyzing or ruminating in the negative details. Take some space and let yourself breathe.

As Spiritual beings, we truly want peace. Our hearts and our Minds know that this is true. We are meant to be happy, relaxed and confident in who we truly are. So, the next time you may feel the need to project, understand just what exactly you are doing. Be responsible for your own peace, and choose again. Choose for Love.

Love is what you are,
