My Mind Book
Teach and Learn the laws of happiness!
“Ultimately this book teaches children that they are very powerful sculptors of their own lives.”
Lois Freisleben-Cook, MD. Developmental Pediatrician
My Mind Book will help your children us the power of their own thoughts to increase their everyday happiness. Inspired by the wisdom of A Course in Miracles, this book gives children a friendly introduction to the laws which govern their minds, using clear and relatable examples. Young readers are led through tips on how to cool off when they’re upset, raise their self-esteem, and become genuinely loving to others.
Also included is a Parent’s Guides offering tips on how to communicate compassionately and defectively with the children in your life. Caring adults will learn how to be loving supporters while encouraging children to gently speak about their issues, instead of bottling them up.
My Mind Book is my first published book. As a teacher of Mental Health to adults for many years, I became keenly aware that these adults who suffer from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, lack of confidence and on and on, were in the position that they were in because the decided to do one thing that they didn’t know not to do, take the ego seriously.
Ego is what is referred to as the “small self”. Eckhart Tolle identifies the chatty voice in our heads as the ego. A Course in Miracles would also say that ego is mis-thought and the product of an untrained mind. And Michael Singer, Author of “The Untethered Soul” would say that the ego is your head’s roommate, a roommate you don’t actually like.
The ego is arrogant in the fact that it has told you that you are not perfect and that you should be afraid all the time, Yikes!
And we have believed it.
Through our belief in the ego, we have inevitably become loyal to its nonsense ideas. Why do we remain loyal to such a vicious master?
Because we made thinking with our ego our habit.
You don’t have to be a spiritual person in order to recognize the ego. Any mindful person can tell that there is a voice inside their mind that is incessantly chatty and beyond annoying.
Our loyalty to the ego is simply a bad habit. An identification with a fear-based thought system.
A Course in Miracles explains this ego dynamic perfectly, “You are much too tolerant of mind wandering and are passively condoning your mind’s miscreations.”
And so, through our identification with the ego, we are passively condoning all the nonsense of a mad hatter. And it is this ego identification, this bad habit, which has led so many people to feel anxious, upset and confused about their purpose and true identity.
And here, I saw a need. The need to share the fundamentals of how their thoughts and their minds work. Children who have these fundamentals firmly set in place are set up to be confident, competent and compassionate people as they progress through their teenage and adult years.
My Mind Book has been reviewed by Developmental Pediatricians, Social Workers and Spiritual Teachers, all of whom agree that teaching children how their minds and thoughts function is absolutely necessary.
To me, as a Mental Health Teacher and loving Aunt, I feel that not only is the education of children on how their minds work necessary, but right. Children, like the rest of us, deserve to know how their minds function and that they have a choice in which voice to listen to, the ego’s or their heart’s.
"Teaching children how their minds work seems so important. Yet this is rarely taught! My Mind Book fills this need by teaching that positive thinking makes us feel happy, that forgiveness heals the mind, that we gain by giving, and that we are all connected."

"Fiona Williams answers the question that was left unanswered for a century or more, 'Why do I not feel good and what can I do to stop this feeling?' And she answers it right. You can't NOT buy this book for your children, it will help them and you!"
