Social Media - How the ego Plays Us Against Each Other

Uncategorized Mar 12, 2018

With all the issues behind the misuse of social media, I wanted to hone in on the dominating factor behind why someone overuses social media and why someone abuses others on social media. Exposing the sneaky dynamics of what is really going on in the background of social media abuses is necessary to overcome this latest societal plague.

In my opinion, society is way too lax about what can be labeled as a weapon of mass torment. Social media, like so many things, was meant to be just that, a way of being social via media. Intended to be useful and bring people together, our ego-identified minds have allowed social media to be used for the ego’s agenda and to follow the ego’s chaotic formula for hatred to flourish. Our overexposure to the fear and negativity which runs rampant on social media has done a number on all of our very fragile self-esteems.

Everyone who is exposed to social media is exposed to its harmful effects, (that is unless you have an incredible...

Guilt - Where it Came From and How to Move Past It

Uncategorized Feb 19, 2018

How many actions demonstrated in our physical world are the result of guilt?

Innumerable.

Guilt is acted out every instant of every day. Shame, anger, blame, grudges, belittling, punishment, violence, anxiety, reactiveness, and on and on and on. There are many effects of guilt and some of these effects are acted out on others and some are put on the self. If we see where we behave like this in our own lives we may recognize that there is a lot of guilt being thrown around!

So, why do we feel guilty?

A Course in Miracles teaches that it is because we feel that we separated ourselves from the Source of Love. And in so doing, we feel horribly guilty about it.

“What do I have to feel guilty about?” is a common question I hear from my clients, so if this also seems foreign to you and you are genuinely questioning whether this is relevant for you then try this… observe how you feel when a cop car pulls up behind you. You know that your insurance and registration is up...

Conscience, Conscious and C(c)onsciousness

Uncategorized Feb 19, 2018

This blog is about defining these well-used words for clarity purposes!

There is a ton of spiritual literature out there, or as my Mother would put it, “the market is saturated.” It is through my reading of many of these literary works that I have noticed that the terms conscious, unconscious and consciousness have both positive and negative definitions. Welcome to the world of duality! The world of good and bad. So, I thought it may be helpful to explain these terms so that when you are delving into your spiritual library, you are on board with the lingo. And also so you understand yourself more.

So, here goes!

Let’s begin with conscious.

The first definition presents conscious as a level of the mind. It is the mental level where you are wide awake. Here on this mental level you judge, analyze, decide and take action. In your conscious mind you can easily become agitated because your untrained mind is racing, chatting incessantly and you are also judging...

Altruism - A Gift for All!

Uncategorized Nov 06, 2017

I love being altruistic! Whether it’s a candy bar for the homeless gentleman outside of the grocery store or donating to my favourite charities or anything in between, I’m all for it!

So, with this Holiday Season in full gear, I wanted to send a loving message about how when we help others, we are helping ourselves and everyone wins!

Law of the Mind #5, which is shared in my children’s book, My Mind Book, is “All Minds are Connected” and surely this is a law which I have repeated many times. If all minds are connected, then what I think, say or do to others, I am thinking about, saying to or doing to myself. In a positive light, this is why any act of being loving to others is so good for you!

Whether you are volunteering, giving a gift to someone, donating to a charity, smiling at someone who appears grumpy, or whatever it may be, you are being love and reinforcing love for both yourself and the other.

Remember from my series on the ego where you...

Baseline State – What It Is, Where You’re At & How to Raise It

Uncategorized Nov 06, 2017

When it comes to disciplining your mind and using it to its BEST ability you gotta first begin with an understanding of where you’re at! That’s why this week I want to present to you a concept which will increase your self-awareness and amp up your self-empowerment! This week’s blog is about the baseline state.

What is the baseline state?

It is the place where you currently function from mentally. Your reactions, your triggers, your general daily feeling are all part of what contribute to your personal baseline state. Everyone’s baseline state is different as we all have different “glass half-full / half-empty” perceptions when it comes to a variety of situations.

“Awareness is the greatest agent for change.”

Eckhart Tolle

If you take a few moments to reflect on the thoughts which dominate your day, you can see what your state of mind is like.

Are you reactionary? Are you agitated? Are you negatively triggered by someone’s...

Seeking Without for What is Within

Uncategorized Oct 18, 2017

As humans, we have a habit of searching and it is the ego prompting the search. We are receiving a constant directive to search outside of ourselves for meaning, for happiness, for love.

This is a major error and a useless habit.

If we continue to search outside of ourselves for meaning, we will be lost, searching forever.

The truth that all we require is already within us. It has to be there because of the simple (yet I understand hard to believe) truth, that Love, Source, God, It is part of you, not outside of you. The sooner you recognize this, the better your life will be and the more you will relax into the truth that you really need not search for anything, including Love. You’re it! You’re ALL of it!

In Gary Renard’s book, The Disappearance of the Universe, it is taught that it is the arrogance of the ego which tells us that we are not part of Love. But really the arrogance is thinking we are separate from our Source, from Love. How’s that for a...

Don't Like It, Stop Talking About It

Uncategorized Oct 17, 2017

This week’s blog is about the dangers of repetition and reinforcement. I have already shared many times that things which are repeated become harder to undo in the mind, so you want to be cognizant of what ideas and thoughts you are repeating. Surely if they do not serve you, you would be wise to stop investing in them.

But more specifically I would like to write about our “stories,” the tales we tell about ourselves. Whether it is a poor relationship, a nagging physical ailment, the way someone speaks to you or whatever else it may be, you talking about it, complaining about it, or venting about it leaves you in the same low energy.

Where is the relief? Well, it has to come from you. It would be helpful for you to give yourself permission to move beyond the story.

Thoughts grow stronger the more you share them, this is a fundamental law of the mind. So, as you try to seek solace in sharing your negative stories with others, you are in fact making them stronger in...
